The important Food Hub in The Yard District is starting to come together.  

When you drive through The Yard, you’ll notice three standalone buildings being built just north and west of Firehouse Subs.  These three upcoming buildings are all restaurants.  As a matter of fact, these three food businesses along with Firehouse Subs will make up the Food Hub in The Yard. 

The whole reason for the Food Hub in The Yard is to support the young people and families that will come and go to Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre.   

Lake Country Co-op is donating millions of dollars over the next few years to the city.  In exchange, They get naming rights to the Aquatic & Arenas Rec Centre.  The Rec Centre is now known as the Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre (LCCLC). 

With the variety of water features and two year round ice rinks, there will be many visitors enjoying swimming, splashing, and skating fun.

Both local families and tourist families will enjoy the leisure amenities of the LCCLC.  Hungry, happy kids and their exhausted parents or team chaperones will be very happy to get a bite to eat before they hit the street to go home.

In the future, the Food Hub will also support visitors to the 4500 seat Cultural Event & Convention Centre.  Soon, it will be built just south of the Leisure Centre.

Think of all of the swimming, skating, and hockey tournaments the LCCLC will hold.  Similarly, think about the many visitors that will travel to PA from all over the province to enjoy the leading edge, one of a kind facility.  Add to this all the many arts, sports, tradeshow, convention, concert, and entertainment possibilities of the future 4500 seat Cultural Event & Convention Centre.  The need for meal options right outside of these two side by side state of the art tourism and leisure draws is clear.  More precisely, our visitors will need coffee, burgers in a bag, nutritious and delicious subs, and to take some time for a good sit down meal.  In summary, the Food Hub in The Yard will give our community’s guests what they want.
