City’s Play It Forward Campaign

The City of Prince Albert has officially launched the City’s Play It Forward Campaign. Anyone can now donate money to the Aquatic & Arenas Rec Centre build.  This Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre was paid for with Federal and provincial grants.  Now the City of Prince Albert needs to raise money for the interior work.

The City hosted media and some local people at an event inside.  They showed off their tshirts and buttons with the Play It Foward slogan.  Anyone can buy a tshirt from Prince Albert Tourism office.  They’re nice shirts at a good price, right in time for Christmas presents.

New Mayor Bill Powalinksy said at the campaign launch that every dollar matters.  He encouraged people to go buy a tshirt or go to the website and make a donation.  Mayor Powalinsky said that no donation is too small.  You can read more about the campaign launch here Play it forward: City begins fundraising campaign for Leisure Centre | paNOW and also here ‘Play if Forward’ Campaign officially underway | Prince Albert Daily Herald

The Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre is really starting to look good on the inside.  It was exciting to be able to see the water in the pool during Tim Kellar’s speech.  Tim is the CEO of Lake Country Co-op.  Ralph Boychuck has been assisting the City with its fundraising campaign.  The closest ice rink was visible from where he stood.  It was exciting to see some seats getting installed.

The launch of the City’s Play It Forward campaign for fundraising for the Leisure Centre is under way.
