It’s back from the early days when The Yard business & entertainment District was little more than lots of snow covering lots of dirt.

The local families that created Signature Developments have been talking about how to help grow their city for over a decade. 

the early days

The partners went to work on this long before any dirt got moved.  Thousands and thousands – and thousands! – of hours went into the planning before they even got approval from city council to move forward on bringing this massive project to life.

2022

It’s been over 2 years already since the city broke ground in The Yard.  The snow melted and the partners got to work on putting in all the necessary underground infrastructure like power, water, energy, sewer and storm – all at their own cost.  These critical underground infrastructure items were included in the land purchase price. 

2023

In 2023, we saw a lot of activity on site.  PA’s largest hotel in its history reached completion just in time for Christmas.  The city’s Aquatic & Arenas Rec Centre continued on schedule.  The Malenfant family worked hard on their 6 bay building with the beautiful brick frontage.

today

In 2024, people coming from out of town have commented on the increased activity and energy.  They say that people here seem optimistic and excited for change.  They’re right.  A lot has changed in a short time and The Yard is just the beginning of the bright future and opportunities that lay ahead for Prince Albert.
