It’s been one month since our Community BBQ! We fed a lot of people.

We served 600 hamburgers and 200 hotdogs in the Art Hauser parking lot to people while they waited their turn to do the bus tour of The Yard.  There was always a crowd waiting to get on the bus. 

Rusty was a great tour guide.  People clapped and were so appreciative.  The bus was filled to capacity every tour.  We managed to squeeze 6 tours in before it was completely dark.  We ran out of daylight!  Rusty, Gord and Jayson were so pleased with the turn out.  Lots of people visited with each other while they waited for a chance to go on the tour. 

So many people came to show their interest and show their support.  A lot of people said The Yard will make Prince Albert more attractive so our young talent stays here instead of moving away.  Some people even said their kids are planning to move back to PA from cities like Calgary! 

After they got off the bus, lots of people said they were surprised to find out that most of The Yard is already sold out.  They were surprised that only one small parcel remains and even it is in discussions.  They were also surprised at the size of The Yard and to learn how much new revenues the new tax base will generate for our city.

Even though it’s been one month since our community bbq, we still have people say what a good time they had and how excited they are for Prince Albert’s future.  We are proud to be part of this strong and growing community.
