People regularly ask for an update on the proposed Event Centre in Prince Albert.
WHERE WOULD IT GO?
The proposed Event Centre would go just south of the Aquatic & Arenas Rec Centre that’s being built right now. The Rec Centre will have a lazy river, wave pool, water slide, and competitive lane swimming. It will also have 2 NHL sized rinks with year round ice. It is on schedule to be completed at the end of 2024 and open to the public this January.
WHAT IS IT?
The proposed Event Centre would also have an NHL sized rink with year round ice and it would also have 4500 seats!
WHY DO WE WANT AN EVENT CENTRE?
The whole point of the proposed Event Centre is that it would make Prince Albert eligible for big name concerts, major events, and national and international performing arts and sports competitions that we don’t even get considered for right now.
It would increase Prince Albert’s tourism power and our entire local economy would see huge benefits from more visitors to our community.
The Event Centre would also put money into the City of Prince Albert from national and international user fees.
