Prince Albert’s Largest Hotel
Prince Albert’s largest hotel will open in The Yard hopefully by the end of 2023.
Gary Brar, an accomplished hotelier from Calgary, is building what will be the largest hotel in Prince Albert in the middle of The Yard: a Holiday Inn Express with 121 very needed rooms. The exterior shell is up and now work can begin on the inside.
Gary was attracted to Prince Albert because his research indicated that the city was very under-supplied for hotel rooms. Many people have to stay in smaller surrounding communities when they come to PA for tournaments and tourism.
His research verified: there just aren’t enough hotel rooms in Prince Albert. Some people are able just to drive home since they don’t live that far away. This is a need that must be addressed for our city to be a real tourism draw. You need ample hotel rooms to accommodate visitors.
With ten other hotels in other cities in Saskatchewan, Gary knows what to look for – and after talking to the families of Signature Developments, he knew exactly where it should be located.

The Yard will be an entertainment and shopping district that will create a major tourism attraction for Prince Albert.
The administration of the Prince Albert Raiders WHL hockey team confirms that hotel rooms in Prince Albert are needed, saying that many families drive home after events or tournaments because of a shortage of rooms in the city. Gary hopes the hotel will be up and running by November of 2023.
