In one of our radio chats, Lew said “We’re improving local!”  And how fabulous that he did since that is the goal for developing The Yard entertainment and business district. 

Such fun chatting with Lew Harrison on Beach FM radio.  He gets pretty excited about the growth that is coming to our city. 

He knows that the partners of Signature Developments have done major civil engineering projects across the country.  From airport runways to underground mines, from new residential areas to new shopping complexes. 

Combined, they have over 202 years of experience in major civil engineering projects.  And this is what their fathers did before them!

It’s only natural for them to use their skill set. 

And, like their fathers before them, it’s only natural for them to want to improve the city where their families live, work and play.  

So, in our radio chat when Lew said that The Yard is improving local, that particular word – ‘improving’ – rings true.

Rusty, Gord, Kenny and Jayson wanted to create a destination.  They wanted PA to be more than a place people drive through on the way to the lakes and the North.  By creating a new major destination, PA would become a place people drive to.

Now, we all know that creating a destination isn’t all we need to do to improve local.  But it is definitely one of the things we can do.  And when we improve local, more people shop local.  And all of our businesses, wherever they are in the city, get more exposure to more visitors and customers.

So in our radio chat, when Lew says we’re improving local by building The Yard district, it’s easy to agree with him.  And that’s the goal.
