Lake Country Co-op Makes History

Lake Country Co-op makes history in Prince Albert!  Lake Country Co-op has made an historic, legacy donation of ten million dollars to the City of Prince Albert.  This has never been done in our city’s history.  On October 1st, the city revealed that the city’s Aquatic & Arenas Rec Centre is now the Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre.

It was a heart warming announcement on a cold, windy day.  Many people gathered just outside the Rec Centre, waiting to hear what the big announcement was.

The Mayor spoke and thanked Lake Country Co-op up and down.  City Manager Sherry Person spoke.  So did Lake Country Co-op Board of Directors Chair Rick Kindrachuk.  CEO Tim Keller also spoke.

Here’s an article by PA Daily Herald who was there for this historic occasion: New recreation facility named Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre after a significant legacy donation | Prince Albert Daily Herald (paherald.sk.ca)

Our community will really benefit because Lake Country Co-op makes history with this legacy donation.  This beautiful, huge, state of the art Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre will be the envy of Western Canada.  Our young people and families will be able to keep busy, happy and healthy.  Visitors will come from all over the province to enjoy its splashing and skating opportunities.  People will want to stay here or move here for the many good jobs that are coming with the hospital expansion and the return of forestry just North of the city limits.

Although they haven’t changed the webpage name, the new facility name is proudly displayed right at the top.
