It’s been one year since our community BBQ!  Today we announced the Back to School BBQ for Feeding Our Future!  We really like BBQs!

One year ago today, comedian Kelly Taylor emceed our community BBQ.

Malcolm Jenkins introduced Rusty, Gord and Jayson and shared his support for the economic growth that will come from all of the new commercial buildings in The Yard.

We went through over 600 hamburgers and hot dogs and ran out of food!

Six packed full bus loads of people went into The Yard for a tour and Rusty played the tour guide.

People clapped when he explained that the new buildings will generate over $3,000,000, as high as $4,000,000 in new tax revenue for the city.

They were also impressed that the paving, sidewalks and landscaping were all paid for by the developers not the city.

People were even more impressed that the waste water, storm water, water, energy, power, and communications underground infrastructure was also all paid for by the developers not the city.

It’s been one year since our community BBQ and we were so glad we did it.  It brought the community together.  It got accurate communications out to PA people about the ways that our city will benefit from this positive development.
