The Benefits of an Urban Campground

There are benefits to having an urban campground.  The two largest cities in Saskatchewan both benefit from having urban campgrounds.  Prince Albert is the third largest city in the province.  Soon, PA will have its first urban campground in The Yard.

People will want to come visit PA for the swimming competitions that can be held in the Aquatic part of the Rec Centre.  They’ll want to come visit for the wave pool with zero entry, the splash pad, the lazy river with two water slides.

But not everyone will want to stay in a hotel.  Maybe they need to bring their dogs.  Perhaps they have too many family members to go into a hotel.  This is where an urban campground comes in.

There will be 42 camping spots around a nice water feature which will be in plain view of the extension of our Rotary Trail park system.  Imagine being able to walk the dogs, go to the pool, get groceries, grab a coffee or some take out, sit in a restaurant, have a drink, and buy gas on your way out of our city, all in the same district.

This will be a great, new tourism feature that Prince Albert didn’t have before.  It will open up options for more people to visit PA.   Tourism is one of the major benefits of an urban campground.  We’ll be able to join the list of large cities that has
