Year in Review

It’s exciting to look back at the year in review. So many positive things have happened in Prince Albert over the past 12 months.  There have been many positive developments.  PA is moving towards a bright future with many opportunities.  Let’s take a look down memory lane and revisit this year’s progress and positive developments.

The Metis Centre of Excellence Early Learning and Childcare Centre is growing nicely.

This will be a great addition to the hospital district that is taking shape on the West hill.

The Ronald McDonald House broke ground just before the snow came.

This will be another great addition to the hospital district.  

Speaking of hospitals, the massive hospital expansion got underway and we can see progress every month.  

Northern Lights Casino announced an expansion.

The casino is a big tourism  draw and development corporation gives back a lot to our community.  

Firehouse Subs opened in The Yard and so did McDonalds.

Both of these restaurants are part of the food hub that will support the Aquatic & Arenas Rec Centre.  When hungry, happy kids and exhausted parents are finished swimming, splashing, and skating fun, they can grab a bite to eat right across the street before heading home.  Soon Canadian Brewhouse will be opening in the food hub as well.  

The Sasktel Store also opened in The Yard and the Holiday Inn Express celebrated it’s one year anniversary. 

Lake Country Co-op went into partnership with the City of Prince Albert.

New Recreation Facility Renamed Lake Country Co-Op Leisure Centre After Significant Legacy Donation – City of Prince Albert

They now have naming rights to the Aquatic & Arenas Rec Centre.  It’s now officially called the Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre thanks to their ten million dollar donation.

Finally, the Saskatchewan Marshals Service announced that they’re ahead of schedule.

This will be beneficial to the entire province and especially to PA which will be the SMS’s HQ.
